Press Association appoints first CTO
The Press Association (PA) has appointed Andrew Dowsett as its first chief technology officer.
Having recently worked for Bauer Consumer Media as operations and technology director, Mr Dowsett has also held similar IT-based roles at Virgin Media Group and EMI.
In his new job he will look after IT across the board at PA and lead all activities from software development to IT service delivery.
PA chief executive Clive Marshall said: "Andrew's depth of experience in both media and technology make him ideally suited for this wide-ranging role. I have no doubt he will be a great asset to the company."
Mr Dowsett said: "My objective at the Press Association is simple - to deliver the best possible IT function to benefit both staff and customers alike."
PA is the leading multimedia content provider and national news agency offering content and digital media services to various news outlets around the country.
