Data management is IT business systems managers' task
IT business systems managers are responsible for overseeing data management with an organisation, according to two experts.
Connie Moore, vice president and research director at Forrester Research and Alexander Peters, a principal analyst at the same firm, noted that companies are raising their investment levels in business process management.
They said that six key figures usually play a role in helping businesses to manages this investment, including business executives, process analysts and IT business systems managers.
It was explained that the latter set of employees will have an operational responsibility, in charge of overseeing BPM projects rather than coming up with the strategies for them.
"This individual invariably reports into the IT organisation and may have management responsibility for a number of areas, including packaged applications, data management, custom apps, websites, e-commerce and ERP," Ms Moore and Mr Peters stated.
Earlier this month, an article on Finextra noted that data management is important to companies in the financial sector as it can help with the evaluation of credit management.
