Adoption of green technology could boost IT infrastructure recruitment
Businesses are beginning to realise the benefits of green technology and investment in IT infrastructure recruitment.
According to new research conducted by the Carbon Trust's Footprinting Company, which was established in 2007, investment in energy efficient IT equipment is beneficial in a number of ways.
Euan Murray, general manager of the Carbon Trust Footprinting Company, said: "More businesses are starting to think and act on their carbon footprint and energy emissions, helping them both meet standards for environmental best practice and save on the costs of energy.
However, Mr Murray highlighted the importance of working with energy efficiency experts "to get a clear picture of where emissions emanate from".
"Quite often, the worst emissions hotspots aren't where people would expect, so it is important to identify where the biggest savings can be made," he concluded.
Last week, the Environment Agency announced it was adopting the services of IT infrastructure specialist Capgemini to help slash its power usage.
