Infrastructure recruitment could be boosted by IaaS adoption

Infrastructure recruitment could benefit from the widespread adoption of Software-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).

According to new research by the Yankee Group, demand for the new technologies is growing and 24 per cent of large enterprises in the US with cloud computing experience have already implemented some form of IaaS.

The firm claims that while adoption of IaaS is lower than uptake of SaaS, demand is gaining traction and it will only be a matter of time before IT infrastructure recruitment becomes a top priority for tech companies.

Yankee Group research fellow Sandra Palumbo said: "The desire to adopt is there, but IaaS solutions and providers still have some barriers to address.

"As adoption plans begin to mount, the time is now for service providers, systems integrators and others to solidify their solutions."

Recent research by Techaisle has shown that small and medium-sized enterprises are set to increase their IT spending in the coming year.
