Firms seek to consolidate IT infrastructure
Businesses across Europe and beyond are looking to consolidate their existing IT infrastructure over the next year, according to new research.
In a timely boost for the industry, figures from Brocade show that more than three-quarters of enterprises in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) consider IT consolidation as one of their top three IT issues for the year ahead.
Brocade's survey also reveals the demands of many of the top chief information officers (CIOs) in the EMEA region
Of the 600 chief information officers questioned in the study, 38 per cent say they want seamless mobility and increased agility and almost half want emerging networking technologies to complement the investments they are making today.
In the UK, an overwhelming 73 per cent of businesses cited simplification as the biggest driver for consolidation.
The figures suggest that confidence in the economy is returning and follows news that IT recruitment is also on the rise.
