Dell 'could be worthy smartphone challenger'
Dell could be set to search for hardware recruits with expertise in smartphone technology, if a report is to be believed.
Gadgets and Gizmos commented it would make "perfect sense" for the firm to take on the likes of Apple with a new pocket-sized gadget.
Founder of the reviews website Richard Sharp said: "They have the knowledge and resources to challenge others in the smartphone market."
"Dell has produced some great products in the past and present," Mr Sharp added.
He was responding to a report published in the Wall Street Journal earlier this week, which claimed Dell is working on a device that would run on Google's Android software.
Sources speaking to the news provider claimed it is slightly bigger than the iPod touch and could hit the shelves later this year.
The article also alleged that staff who are working on the product have been reassigned from an aborted attempt at launching a music player last year.
