Twitter @anywhere broadens social media network reach
Twitter users, such as digital media specialists, will now be able to use the microblogging service in more ways thanks to the introduction of @anywhere.
Twitter users, such as digital media specialists, will now be able to use the microblogging service in more ways thanks to the introduction of @anywhere.
The @anywhere service, which was announced on Twitter's official blog earlier this week, will make it far easier for websites to integrate their services with Twitter.
In addition, it will allow people to make use of Twitter functions without leaving the site they are already on.
Iain Macmillan, chief executive of social media agency RMM London, noted that considering Twitter has a relatively small number of users, the firm was "clearly shifting the way information is disseminated online, both on an individual and corporate scale".
"It's less about Twitter itself than the ripples its functions seem to be making in the way the rest of the internet works".
However, Mr MacMillan cautioned that some users may be put off by @anywhere's pop-up window format.
