Credit Suisse hires more IT professionals
Credit Suisse has bolstered its workforce with additional IT professionals since the beginning of last year, reports Computerworld.co.uk.
The investment bank took on 1,600 staff across all departments and has seen profits increase significantly in the past 15 months, with the first quarter of 2010 revealing a £1.25 billion profit, up from £532 million in the final quarter of 2009.
According to the bank, the growth was mainly in its IT department, with the group's investment banking and private banking divisions seeing rising staff numbers, the IT news provider said.
New employees have been working alongside existing IT professionals in the company to introduce IT systems for those businesses.
The bank's nine per cent increase in general expenses was partly attributed to the increase in IT specialists.
Figures from KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation showed that March saw the fastest growth in permanent IT jobs for nearly 13 years.
