Cisco Cius gives IT pros 'new options'
Cisco Systems has announced its Cisco Cius, a mobile collaboration business tablet.
The device offers HD video streaming, multi-party conferencing and the ability to produce, edit and share content stored locally or in the cloud, in addition to all the usual features such as email and browsing.
It is based on the Google Android operating software and is akin to an iPad for the office, with an optional HD audio station and a phone handset speakerphone.
The Cius features a seven-inch SVGA touch display, a five megapixel rear-facing camera that can transmit VGA quality video, and support for WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G cellular devices.
"Cisco Cius offers IT professionals new options when it comes to equipping mobile workers with computing devices. Through virtual desktop integration, Cisco Cius offers flexible computing options with cloud-based services," the company said.
