HP steps up IT infrastructure security

IT giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched a new high-performance security initiative aimed at preventing network breaches.

The new measures are aimed at users of converged infrastructure and will allow HP to deliver comprehensive data security in both virtual and physical environments.

HP FlexFabric now offers enhanced security and the firm's TippingPoint Secure Virtualization Framework has been introduced to reduce the threat to virtualised networking environments.

The company has also introduced the HP TippingPoint Reputation Digital Vaccine service, which maximizes protection and reduces business risk for its clients.

Commenting on the new technology, TTKN.com said: "[It] ensures that customer-deployed IPS solutions have the most current and accurate list of malicious or suspicious websites and blocks traffic to or from these sites automatically.

"The list of sites is updated every two hours."

HP is looking to secure a multi-billion dollar networking infrastructure deal with the US Navy, reports Reuters.
