Adaptable infrastructure staff 'key to business success'
A key quality for infrastructure staff is agility in challenging situations, if one commentator is to be believed.
Chris Bone from Fujitsu said firms built around IT systems need to keep costs to a minimum while taking advantage of the latest technological innovations.
The enterprise products and solutions specialist gave the example of satellite broadcasters branching out into providing consumer internet connections as an instance of when internal computer systems need to be up to scratch to instigate success.
"If you have a new venture or a new way of doing business, getting that to market quickly enough so you steal a march on the competition is critical," he remarked.
His employer has recently conducted a survey in this aream which found 61 per cent of the top 200 IT workers polled believe increased flexibility is needed within their organisations with regard to infrastructure.
Some 50 per cent of respondents blamed outdated technology as a reason for cost inefficiency.
