UK online fashion retailers 'more advanced than US'
Brits working in fashion retail recruitment are much more advanced with their online content compared to the US, according to industry experts.
Figures from fashion e-tailer ASOS show that sales have grown by 47 per cent, with the number of active visitors up by 32 per cent year-on-year.
Sarah Curran, founder and chief executive of fashion-focused web site my-wardrobe.com, said at the recent 2009 Fashion Summit in London that customers had a high expectation for their experience online.
"I don't think you can ever sit still and say, 'my website's done'," she said. "You have to always be changing it."
The Get Safe Online Report 2009 revealed that 70 per cent of internet users now make purchases online compared with 61 per cent in 2007.
In addition, over a third say that the recession has made no difference to their online behaviour, though almost half of internet users say they will now only buy online from trusted brands.
