Websites 'must be mobile-enabled'

Internet developers must ensure the websites they produce are mobile-enabled, as more people turn to smart phones to browse the web, it has been stated.
Whether their website is social network-driven or not, owners must bear in mind that accessing the internet on the move via handheld devices is becoming more popular, explains Tim Gibbon, co-founder of the Social Media Portal.
Mobile phones and their operating systems are being designed around and influenced by social media networks and internet access, changing their look and feel, he continues.
"Phones are being built with better camera and web capabilities, operating systems are built with social networking in mind," Mr Gibbon commented.
Figures from Gartner show that worldwide smart phone sales totalled 308.9 million units in the third quarter of this year.
Both Apple and BlackBerry increased their market share during this period, although Nokia lost some of its dominance.
