Virtual banking solution 'helps businesses maximise working capital'
A new banking solution devised by Citi's financial services IT staff will help businesses maximise working capital, it has been claimed.
The Virtual Card Accounts offer an "extremely innovative" service which generates unique card numbers and reference data when transactions are being completed.
Spending taking place over the phone, on the internet and through mail order has been targeted by the initiative, which it is claimed will speed up the conciliations process.
It available to use across the world, with over 50 nations involved in the scheme, something he the organisation claims can not be competed with by other monetary companies.
Announcing the move, Citi's global head of treasury and trade solutions Paul Simpson said: "It provides our clients with real-time virtual card capabilities and strong controls over their transactions to help them further safeguard against risk [and] improve processes."
The news comes in the same week Nokia Money was launched by the Finnish phone firm. The financial services innovation will allow payments to be completed using handsets.
