Google's faster search page 'unveiled'
Internet specialists can now gain access to Google's new search page through an exploit function, it has been revealed.
The method has been discovered by gadget site Gizmodo and involves pasting a piece of JavaScript code into the navigation bar of an internet browser while on the main Google web page. The application had previously been in a closed, limited trial.
This will reveal that the search page interface has changed, with the navigation tabs now on the left side of the screen in a vertical column and simplified page elements.
Gizmodo also found that the new layout offers a significantly faster search, with simplified page elements to allow for speedier loading times.
Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at IT security software provider Sophos, commented that Google is most likely trialling the new interface on a small, randomly chosen percentage of the millions of people who use their search engine every day, to see if they change their behaviour.
"I very much doubt that they care if some of the tech community have found a way to experience the new interface themselves," he added.
