Spotify "thrilled" with iPhone app acceptance
It has been confirmed that an iPhone app created by Spotify's digital media developers has been accepted by Apple.
Announcing the news on the music service's official blog, Jonatan Littke stated the music streaming organisation is "thrilled" with the decision.
"[It] will include many of the features our users enjoy on the desktop, with the added advantage of letting you listen to your playlists even when you haven't a network connection, for instance when on a plane," he remarked.
Mr Littke added premium subscribers in the UK, Spain, Finland, France and Norway would be able to download the software for nothing in the near future.
The innovation was unveiled by Spotify last month in a YouTube video which detailed how it will be used.
Launched in October last year, the service allows users to stream millions of songs for free.
Commenting on the move in July, Mobile-Phones.co.uk suggested the app will broaden the appeal of the iPhone and outstrip any potential revenue loss from Apple's iTunes music download service.
