Windows 7 'should be adopted by businesses'

Windows Vista is a great addition to the computers of digital mediastaff as it delivers greater technological performance, according to a leading technology specialist in the UK.

Editor of PC Advisor Paul Trotter explained that Windows 7 will easily beat its predecessor Vista, which was unpopular following its initial release due to complexities affecting its compatibility with computer hardware.

"I think it's fair to say that Windows 7 is quicker," he said. "It is definitely a worthy upgrade.

"Microsoft are still top with about with a market share of 80 to 95 per cent and, even if they put out a stinker, Microsoft would be here for some years yet."

In terms of its future direction, Mr Trotter also believes that Microsoft's shift to browser-based applications will be "wise" as it will likely be popular among users due to the natural shift in technology taking place in the market.

It adds to the praise bestowed on Windows 7, with Mark Shuttleworth, the chief executive officer of Canonical - a leading distributor of open-source operating system Ubuntu Linux - praising the offering today (October 28th).
