Google AdSense announces new 'violations policy'

Google AdSense has made alterations to its policies – including a new rule relating to violations of its products and services. Under this code, advertisers are not permitted to place their marketing, search boxes or results on a place where damage could be done to one of Google or one of its arms. The search engine has given the example of people putting ads on websites which allow users to download YouTube videos – a banned practice. Announcing the move on the firm's official blog, publisher support Winnie Creason said it had also made other alterations. "Based on your feedback, we've reorganised the content and updated the layout [of the AdSense program policies page] to make it easier to read and navigate," she said. Ms Creason clarified that adverts cannot be included in emails and may not be formatted in a way that does not distinguish them from other media on a page. Earlier this month, the organisation announced it was running beta tests of a category filtering feature for the AdCentre, which if implemented could give users the ability to block the adverts they do not wish to see.ADNFCR-2165-ID-19144886-ADNFCR
