Retail staff 'should utilise CRM software'
It makes "perfect sense" for retail staff involved in e-commerce to use customer relationship management (CRM) software, it has been asserted.
This type of platform is no harder to operate than a word processor and has a number of benefits, Modera claimed.
Chief executive officer at the firm Siim Vips stated companies that invest in CRM technology are "empowering" themselves.
"These systems enable them to pull in what they need and when they need it - providing the right platform to work from is implemented from the outset," he said.
Mr Vips also extolled the virtues of content management and systems products, arguing it can give organisations better access to information on their web portals.
He made his comments following the recent release of the PayPay UK Online Retail Report, which suggested UK e-commerce spend is set to increase over the coming years.
The study, carried out by Experian, predicted sales to hit £21.3 billion by the end of 2011 which may mark the country's emergence from the recession.
