MySpace pairs with Google for music search
Two of the web's most famous companies will be hooking up to bring a new function to the world's best-used search engine.
Digital media specialists and musicians will no doubt have their lives made easier after MySpace announced its partnership with internet behemoth Google to create a music search under the latter organisation's umbrella.
Courtney Holt, the president of MySpace Music, is proud to be a part of the new agreement between the firms and told Brand Republic that it will allow for thousands of bands using MySpace's highly-revered musical platform to get improved exposure, while also helping out entertainment lovers.
"We believe the future of MySpace includes enabling the socialisation of content not only on MySpace but also on other websites," she said.
"Working with partners like Google is an important part of this strategy, and we have plenty of other opportunities ahead of us."
MySpace is owned by Fox Interactive Media, which is a subsidiary of News Corporation - the Australian-based media conglomerate owned by Rupert Murdoch.
