PayPal creates 100 new jobs in Dublin
Online payment company PayPal has announced plans to create dozens of new jobs in its Dublin facility, those involved in digital media recruitment may be interested to hear.
This latest recruitment round, offering 100 new positions, will bring to 1,050 the number of people working for the eBay subsidiary in Ireland, with its Dublin centre managing all direct customer contact across Europe.
Some 950 people are currently employed at PayPal's European Centre of Excellence in Blanchardstown, with new recruits with fluent English and a second European language due to be taken on.
PayPal, which was founded in California in 1998 and acquired by eBay in 2002, is a global leader in online payment solutions, used by millions worldwide and available in 190 markets and 24 currencies, making money transfers possible across countries and language barriers.
Taoiseach Brian Cowen welcomed the new jobs, saying they represent "a major vote of confidence in Ireland as a location for investment".
The positions offered will be across a range of departments, from traditional technical support areas, to software engineering areas such as code modification.
