Infrastructure staff 'driving economic recovery'

Developments facilitated by infrastructure staff are driving growth in the global IT economy, it has been claimed.

However, Digital Pathways has sounded a note of caution, stating the improvement may only affect a small amount of firms.

Managing director of the company Colin Tankard said: "The report talks a lot about infrastructure projects and there have been a lot of government tenders but these are really targeted at a few organisations – [the] big players."

He also discussed the possibility of investors ploughing cash into retail streams, especially since many firms in this sector may see compliance as a primary concern this year.

Mr Tankard was reviewing recent research by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which claimed the technology industry could be showing signs of recovery.

The authors of the study noted most countries have reported increased production in the sector during May and June.

Government investment is one of the key reasons for the improvement, especially in the areas of transport systems and power distribution, the report suggested.ADNFCR-2165-ID-19290980-ADNFCR
