Outsourcing industry will 'enter 2010 with positive signs of rebounding'

Companies will return to using outsourcing infrastructure specialists to recapture innovation and provide flexibility in 2010, one industry commentator has claimed.

The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) said that after a year of tremendous pressure, the industry was expected to enter the next decade with positive signs of rebounding.

Forecasting trends for 2010, the IAOP noted that though the financial downturn had resulted in many outsourcing deals being put on hold, companies were now moving ahead with renewed confidence.

New outsourcing destinations would also emerge in Central and South America, taking the market share away from traditional outsourcing locations such as China, the IAOP predicted.

Businesses would also increasingly make use of advanced management practices, tools and technologies such as cloud computing to provide "improved value and operational flexibility and performance", the IAOP has claimed.

A recent report by Analysys Mason found that cloud computing had continued to grow during the recession, thanks to its cost effectiveness, and its popularity was expected to continue into the new year.
