Housing Options Officer

My client based in the Essex Area is on the hunt for a housing triage officer for a contract length of 6-12 months please see details below :

Location : Essex

Contract Length : 6- 12 months

Please see details below :Knowledge of the relevant legislation relating to homelessness and housing need, with particular knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 part VII and the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.Understanding the Allocations Policy

Working experience in the assessment of more complex homeless applications for persons who present themselves

Demonstrable experience of making recommendations and decisions under the relevant housing legislation.

Able to work in a fast paced environment

Knowledge of Jigsaw will be helpful

Requirements :

• Good IT skills including word processing and ability to use spreadsheets and external websites.
• Good understanding of financial/debt management and an understanding of financial inclusion issues.
• Ability to write clear and concise case records.
• Experience of working in the field of mental health, financial inclusion, welfare benefits advice or support work, assessing the needs of vulnerable people and promoting independence.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage own time and workload.
• Good knowledge of welfare benefits regulations, energy advice and regulatory requirements and the protection of vulnerable adults and children
