Cost Engineer / Estimator

We are looking for a Cost Engineer / Estimator to join my client in the Utrecht area on a rolling 12-month contract working on a fit-out construction project.

The client requires someone to work on cost estimating construction projects with 5+ years of experience within this field, as well as being able to handle lots of responsibility while remaining creative and a key aspect of the team.

The client works primarily on data centre construction / fit out projects but can accept candidates with experience on major projects in industrial sectors e.g. pharma, chemicals, food. The right candidate will have experience in the preparation phase of projects and be able to perform cost breakdowns and supplying quotes for end-clients.

Cost Estimator / Calculator Specification:

  • START: Immediate – End of November
  • LOCATION: Utrecht area, Netherlands
  • DURATION: 12 Month Contract (long term opportunity).

Essential Skills:

  • Experienced cost engineer / estimator with background experience in tender management / teams and dealing with general / sub – contractors
  • Experience working on the contractor side in engineering and construction projects is essential.
  • Able to perform cost breakdown and create a quote to deliver to the end-client.
  • Purchasing and requesting of quotes from contractors/suppliers.
  • Client and site based working experience essential.
  • Fluent English and Dutch speaking are essential.

Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience previously in construction in data centres including, fit-outs of ceilings, flooring and walls.
  • Any knowledge of / experience with other cost / budgeting -related systems to SAP and Excel.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
