Customer Service Officer

My client is seeking a skilled Temporary Customer Service Officer to support our local authority client. This role is focused on handling council tax inquiries and requires a Welsh-speaking individual to provide exceptional customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for council tax inquiries, assisting residents through various channels including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Address and resolve questions related to council tax billing, payments, exemptions, and account changes.
  • Process applications, adjustments, and updates related to council tax efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide clear and accurate information about council tax policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive support for all council tax-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Welsh and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within a local authority or similar public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of council tax processes and regulations is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using customer service and administrative software.

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
