Engineering Construction Manager

About the role:

We are currently looking for a Construction Manager with a civil background to join my client based in the Botlek area of Rotterdam.

The role is to work on the contractor side to deliver a construction package of civil works for the construction of a new processing plant. The ideal candidate would have 5 – 10+ years within industrial civil projects and previously have had experience being the direct communicator between the contractor and client to help with preparation of budgets, following the work scope according to plans and the coordination of site personnel.

This role is suitable for a candidate who has native/professional English language skills.

START: August/September

DURATION: 12 Month Contract

LOCATION: Rotterdam, Netherlands

The client is particularly interested in candidates with experience in Construction and Installation on either brownfield/greenfield settings within a process / manufacturing plant within the Chemical, Petrochemical or FMCG industry.

The client is an end plant operator and you will be working through a sustainable practice, civil construction company working as a civil construction manager onsite.

As a Construction manager you ensure, with a hands-on approach that the construction site runs smoothly and the construction & installations of the new plant are successful and to the highest quality.

Requirements:

  • You have 5+ years of relevant work experience as a Construction manager, Director or equivalent in technique within the civil industry (other experience within the oil & gas and petrochemical industries is beneficial)
  • Technical construction experience, civil construction, sub-contractor management
  • Greenfield or Brownfield projects experience
  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering within a plant / Process environment.
  • Understanding of civils (reinforced concrete), drainage, structures, ground works is all applicable
  • Leadership qualities and excellent communication skills – previous management between client and contractor (and sub-contractors).
  • English Language Skills (Must Speak fluently).
  • VCA or relevant site certifications.

The construction phase of the project and ideal start date for this role is due to start around the end of August – mid-September, but the contractor is ready to start interviews immediately.
