Lead Accountant
G2 Recruitment are working alongside our local authority client to hire a Lead Accountant
Contract length: 6 months initial
Working Pattern (Flexible Hours/Remote): Hybrid work in the home counties (ideally once a week)
Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience, outside IR35
Job Details:
- Support with the preparation of the council’s budget and Medium Term Financial Plan including scenarios analysis and interaction with other strategies, subsidiary companies business plan and Council 2040 strategy.
- Implementation of the requirements of the CIPFA Financial Management Code and recommendations from Corporate Peer Challenge Review.
- Supporting the management, monitoring and reporting of the council’s deficit recovery plan including transformation savings and carrying out financial due diligence as required
Requirements:
- Candidates must be CCAB qualified (ideally CIPFA qualified), part qualified and QBE will not be considered
- Candidates must have demonstrable experience with Medium Term Financial Planning in a local authority and implementation of the CIPFA Financial Management Codes
- Candidates must have worked at a senior level within a local authority setting
