eking an Income Recovery Officer to join their team.
Deliver a customer-centric Income and Money Advice Service that prioritizes prevention, tenancy sustainability, and Council revenue optimization. Build strong professional relationships with clients and stakeholders to maintain a high level of professionalism.
Manage all aspects of income and debt recovery casework while strictly adhering to protocols.
Prepare case files proficiently for court submissions and represent in County Court proceedings related to possession and eviction cases. Demonstrate expertise in County Court procedures, coordinating with court officials and Bailiffs.
Evaluate the financial status of clients with outstanding debts, offering practical assistance and guidance to alleviate debts and help them budget for tenancy sustainability.
Provide initial guidance on housing benefits, universal credit, and welfare benefits, facilitating communication and referrals. Ensure ongoing updates to secure positive outcomes.
Actively contribute to strategies addressing the impact of Welfare Reform, utilizing relevant legislation for debt recovery, including applications for Third Party Deductions, Managed Payments, and Discretionary Housing Payments.
Maintain accurate records for clients with outstanding debts, ensuring timely updates and clear, concise documentation that highlights legal dates and outcomes.
Foster a payment-oriented culture among clients, enhancing the Council’s financial stability. Stay current on evolving policies, procedures, and legislation..
Regularly assess outstanding arrears cases, proposing suitable cases for write-off in line with the Council’s policy. Collaborate with external Recovery Agents for debt referrals.

Rate: £24 ph umbrella
Contract length: 4 months with possibility of extension
