Interim HRA Accountant

Role – Interim HRA Accountant
Duration – Until End of February 2024
Rate – Negotiable Day Rate, paid via Umbrella
Client – Local Authority

A local authority client of mine in the Midlands are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong working knowledge and a proven track record dealing with HRA Accounting.

The client are currently in a critical period of preparing their HRA (Housing Revenue Account) Business Plan so need someone who can come in and add value quickly that does not need supervision.

You will need to have the ability to be able to lead on the Authority’s Housing and Assets Budget Setting and work with various stakeholders to review and set the new financial years budget. Alongside this you will be supporting this local authority with the external Audit of the Accounts for the previous financial year and preparing the HRA Business Plan and HIP (Housing Improvement Plan).

Experience that is required to be considered by the client:

– Recent local authority experience working as a HRA Accountant.
– Experience of budget setting and planning.
– Experience preparing HRA Business Plans.
– Strong working knowledge around Housing Improvement Plans (HIP).
– Up to date and relevant financial education and qualifications background to hold such a role.

Interviews for this role are being held later this week and early next on Microsoft Teams and the client want someone to start ASAP.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
