Role – Licensing Officer – Administration/Support
Rate – Negotiable P/H – Umbrella Paid
Client – Local Authority within Hertfordshire
Duration – 6 Months

A local authority client of mine within Hertfordshire are seeking an experienced Licensing Officer to join their service for a period of 6 months.

The position is to join the team and work within a Licensing support function rather than doing any enforcement work. To be considered for this position you must have Licensing experience within a local authority role recently.

Key details on the role:

  • You will be processing and reviewing licensing applications for Taxi/Private Hire Vehicles and Drivers. This will involve doing any background checks, document checks and creating the taxi plates.
  • Civica APP is the IT Software that the client use so previous experience is essential.
  • Knowledge around the following types of Licensing will be beneficial; Licensing Act 2003, Premises Licensing, Temporary Events, Scrap Metal Dealers, Street Trading, Skin Piercing applications.

This assignment is for 6 months and may be extended depending on workload.

It is a hybrid role and will mean you are required to work in the office 2 days per/week and 3 days from home. The site work is required to issue plates and verify all documentation from applicants.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
