Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer

Role – Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
Duration – 6 Months
Location – Fully Remote
Rate – Negotiable Per/Hour – Inside of IR35

A local authority client of mine in the Midlands are looking for a Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer on a 100% remote working basis to replace another contractor who has recently left their team.

Requirements for this role:
– Must have the correct legal qualifications e.g. Qualified Lawyer, either Solicitor, Barrister or an experienced CILEX professional.
– 5 + year’s of experience within a local authority and council department working within contracts and procurement law.

Tasks/Duties within the role:
– You will need a strong awareness and understanding of TUPE and Pensions relating to procurement and contracting.
– You will need an understanding and practical application of subsidy control law, related to grant funding agreements.
– A strong working knowledge and understanding of local authority decision making and governance around inputting legal implications into Cabinet Reports and other reports/decisions.
– If you have used IKEN IT System that is ideal.

There will be no requirement for construction based contract experience as this role will not involve that.

The role will be for ASAP start and interviews are to be held quickly via MS Teams.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
