A local authority client of mine within the South West of England are seeking an Environmental Protection Officer to assist with their noise complaints predominantly associated with licensed premises.
This role will by hybrid working as you will be required on site for committee meetings and to meet with key complainants. You will be in control of your schedule and the majority of work can be done remotely so may only be needed present on site give or take X1 day per week.
This is a part-time requirement, 21-24 hours per week and there is flexibility on when the hours are worked.
You will be expected to assist with statutory noise and nuisance complaints throughout the district covered by the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Licensing Act 2003. The majority of cases can be resolved over the phone but attendance will be required for some. Noise complaints can range from: residential, premises, music, smoking, beer gardens, pubs, restaurants etc.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 12 months experience doing the above within a local authority setting along with experience dealing with licensed premises as there will be an expectancy to be able to hit the ground running.
