One of my local authority clients based in the Home Counties are currently on the lookout for a Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on an interim basis.
Your main responsibility will be to complete HHSRS inspections on both single occupancy dwellings and assist with a backlog of HMO’s (Housing Multiple Occupants properties) they have at the council.
You do not need to necessarily be a fully qualified EHO (EHRB) for this post although it will be beneficial.
Successful applicants will have a vast amount of experience doing the above within a local authority setting as there will be an expectancy to be able to come in and hit the ground running.
Work is typically 50/50, 50% site work and 50% remote work, the option to do admin work from their offices is available if preferred.
Both being HHSRS certified and holding a UK drivers license and having access to a vehicle are essential requirements for this role given the nature of work.
