Quality Engineer

G2 are currently currently looking for a quality engineer to join my client on a permanent basis to be based near Walsall in a primarily remote working role.

The client is working on steel fabrication projects and require a quality assurance, quality control and welding knowledge, focused on engineering, design, fabrication and delivery for various modular build process plant units which will be delivered to the petrochemical, chemical and nuclear sectors.

The client is particularly interested in candidates who have worked with welding and fabrication projects in the past; the role will entail being based primarily from home, with one day per week spent in the office, and infrequent travel as required to various suppliers and third-party fabricators.

LOCATION: Hybrid Working / Home & Client office near Walsall, West Midlands, UK

SALARY: £40,000 – £50,000

Quality Engineer – QAQC – Engineering, Design, Fabrication

Quality Engineer – 5+ Years’ experience

Strong quality systems knowledge, ISO 9001 practical experience (ideally implemented in highly regulated projects)

Quality control and quality assurance understanding

Ideally a knowledge of welding procedures or standards

Knowledge of welding principles for stainless steel

Knowledge of working with supply chain, procurement, order materials.

Beneficial Skills:

ISO 13001 / 45001 (Beneficial not essential)

The client is looking for the successful candidate to start working with the projects team in the engineering office, Walsall and their home based location. The role will focus around full EPC project delivery, including supply chain audits, procurement of materials and updating QMS systems. The role cover QA from home and office, with QC at supplier and fabrication sites.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
