Senior Cost Estimator

g2 are looking for a Cost Estimator to join our client in the North Holland area on an initial 12-month contract working on Class II cost estimation of construction / renewable related projects.

The client is involved in medium and large construction projects and industrial manufacturing. The role would suit a senior estimator who has an engineering background (Civil, Construction, etc.) and has previously worked on large budget projects within integrated teams for a contractor.

The project will be part of a push from the client to become a more sustainable business, with the right candidate having sustainability and renewables as a key interest in their professional ambitions. The estimation calculations will be from existing and new data and will need the suitable candidate to analyse, validate and structure cost data to create and present detailed Class II estimates to their integrated team as well as other management partners and stakeholders involved.

Cost Estimator / Calculator Specification:

START: Immediate – April/May 2024

LOCATION: Amsterdam Area / North Holland, Netherlands

DURATION: 12 Month Initial Contract (Chance for extension).

Essential Skills:

  • Senior cost estimator (5+ years) who has previously worked within the industries of construction, industrial manufacturing or heavy machinery engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience with cost / budgeting systems – SAP, Excel or any other ERP systems.
  • Knowledge and experience creating detailed Class II estimates.
  • Lead and coordinate the estimation process, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Previous experience presenting estimates to senior management and stakeholders, providing clear explanations and continuously monitoring actual spending against projected costs throughout the project’s life cycle – Providing risk assessments and cost reviews regularly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Fluent English is essential – Dutch language at a conversational level is needed.

Beneficial skills:

  • Experience in estimation projects on the contractor and end-client side.
