Location – South East England
Role – Senior Housing Options Officer (Refugee and Asylum Seekers)
Duration – 6 Months
Hours – 37 per/week
Rate – Negotiable Per/Hour – this will be umbrella paid.
Working Style – 3 days on site
Travel – Limited. Should any site visits occur, a pool car is provided.
About the role:
- This client has over 200 residents in a Home Office contingency hotel, with a lot of asylum decisions coming through. This is a brand new post whereby the successful candidate will be dealing with a lot of single-people, accessing their duty and seeing if a priority case is needed. You’ll be meeting with applicants when on-site, creating PHPs, making determinations and find creative solutions for relocating clients using allocated funds given by the Home Office.
What you’ll need:
- You will need to have significant experience working in a housing options and homelessness environment, demonstrable evidence of producing and delivering robust statutory notifications and at track record of devising and securing prevention outcomes on your own initiative.
- You will be expected to undertake detailed housing options and support needs assessments and use these and your own knowledge to prevent homelessness and advise homeless households on viable and suitable accommodation options.
- Extensive experience making section 184 decisions is essential.
