Senior Project Manager – Project Development

About the role:

g2 Recruitment are currently looking for a Project Manager to work on a project for an energy client based in Leiden. The client is beginning preparations for a mid-sized EPC project and require a candidate with experience in project development.

More specifically, they are looking for candidates with experience managing the permitting & basic engineering processes, up until final investment decision. You should have experience working with local governments and communities to explain the benefits of the project, leading to successful award of the environmental & construction permits.

The client can consider both payroll or freelance candidates for this role.

START: ASAP

LOCATION: Leiden, Fridays at home

DURATION: Payroll or Long Term Freelance (12 months+)

Skill Requirements:

  • 10-15+ Years’ Project Manager experience in any onshore oil & gas related industry.
  • Project development experience, experience working on large CAPEX projects over 20m€.
  • Experience working through all engineering, legal, commercial, contracts, permitting, phases up to final investment decision.
  • Ability to work with local authorities, local communities and major stakeholders to secure the environmental & construction permits.
  • Ability to manage basic engineering process.
  • Dutch speaking is preferred, English is essential.

Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant.
