Job Title: Senior Traffic / Highway Engineer

Location: West Midlands, UK

Salary: £37.50 -£47.50 p/h INSIDE IR 35 (negotiable dependent upon experience)

Contract Type: Temporary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team at a local authority in the Northwest. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our transport infrastructure is efficient, safe, and sustainable, and will be responsible for leading on a range of traffic engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development and implementation of traffic management schemes, including traffic calming measures, pedestrian crossings, and cycle routes
  • Oversee the design and implementation of traffic signal schemes and work closely with other departments to ensure that our transport infrastructure is integrated and operates efficiently
  • Work with consultants and contractors to ensure that traffic engineering projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget
  • Undertake traffic modelling and analysis to inform decision making and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with experience in traffic engineering
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status with relevant professional body
  • Proven experience in leading on traffic engineering projects and delivering results
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision making
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Traffic Management Act, and the ability to apply this knowledge to inform project design and delivery

Kane Gray
Systems & Academy Trainer

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
