Job Title: Senior Traffic / Highway Engineer
Location: West Midlands, UK
Salary: £37.50 -£47.50 p/h INSIDE IR 35 (negotiable dependent upon experience)
Contract Type: Temporary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team at a local authority in the Northwest. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our transport infrastructure is efficient, safe, and sustainable, and will be responsible for leading on a range of traffic engineering projects.
- Lead on the development and implementation of traffic management schemes, including traffic calming measures, pedestrian crossings, and cycle routes
- Oversee the design and implementation of traffic signal schemes and work closely with other departments to ensure that our transport infrastructure is integrated and operates efficiently
- Work with consultants and contractors to ensure that traffic engineering projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget
- Undertake traffic modelling and analysis to inform decision making and identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with experience in traffic engineering
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status with relevant professional body
- Proven experience in leading on traffic engineering projects and delivering results
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Traffic Management Act, and the ability to apply this knowledge to inform project design and delivery
