Spatial Data Officer

Good afternoon!

A client of mine, based in Manchester is in need of a temporary (or temp to perm) Spatial Data Officer.

Their current Spatial Data Officer is due to leave in two weeks time and they are looking for there to be a handover between the new Officer and the current Officer. The role will be to pick up mapping, Street naming and numbering, and LLPG/ Land Charge.

They have an immediate need for someone who wants to come in and make a difference to the organisation and are keen for there to be a sufficient handover to help the successful officer.

The client will even interview tomorrow for the right candidate!

  • Length: Contract length 3-6 month initially with the opportunity to become a permanent employee (as they will be looking for two permanent Spatial Data Officers.
  • Location: The first week or two the successful candidate will be in the office, however the rest of the time the position will be flexible and office presence would be as required.
  • Specification: Ability to work at BS:7666 (Standards for Geographical Referencing). They do not necessarily need the candidate to be an LLPG Custodian, but this experience is beneficial. For system information – the client uses IDOX Uniform and the existing spatial data officer uses Symphony, and Spatial Data use TLC. Previous experience using these systems is not required but is beneficial.

Rate of pay is absolutely negotiable.

Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant.
