Job Title: Senior Developer (VB6 and C# .Net) – Freelance

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands (3 days onsite required)

Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Company Overview:

Our client is a well-established engineering company based in Rotterdam, with a reputation for delivering high-quality solutions to their clients. They are currently looking for a Senior Developer to join their team on a freelance basis to work on a critical project.

Job Description:

As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for debugging and cleaning up the existing application that our client has in VB6 and .Net. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the application meets the interface requirements of their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debugging and cleaning up the existing application written in VB6 and .Net.
  • Identifying and resolving any issues related to the interface of the application.
  • Working closely with the engineering team to ensure that the application meets the customer requirements.
  • Providing regular progress reports to the project manager.
  • Identifying areas of improvement and suggesting appropriate solutions.
  • Conducting code reviews and ensuring that the code is well documented and maintainable.


  • At least 5 years of experience in VB6 and C# .Net development.
  • Proven track record in debugging and cleaning up existing applications.
  • Strong knowledge of interface development and UX design.
  • Experience in working with engineering clients and understanding customer requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Working Conditions:

This is a freelance position for a duration of 6 months, with a possibility of extension. You will be required to work onsite with the client in Rotterdam for 3 days per week. The remaining 2 days can be worked remotely.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
