How can wearable technology be made more attractive?
According to analysts at CCS Insight, we will see wearable tech pushed more into the mainstream across the next four years. Advancements will be made in both design and affordability, making wearable technology more attractive to consumers. The research firm went on to predict that there will be 10 million wearables in general use by the end of the year.
Among the most popular of wearable devices are fitness trackers which have been adopted enthusiastically, but its smartphone-linked wearable devices that will account for the largest value proportion in the market – approximately £300m by 2020. The biggest challenge that suppliers are likely to face will be making sure that people who buy wearable tech continue to use it, rather than abandoning it after a few months.
