Battery Design Engineer

Our client is a cutting-edge eMobility company based in Munich, Germany. They are currently working on a project involving electric two and four-wheeled automobiles that redefine the future of transportation. As a market leader in the eMobility sector, they are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and design to provide their customers with unparalleled driving experiences.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Battery Design Engineer. In this role, you will be a key player in the design and development of advanced battery systems for electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in CAD design, hands-on experience with CAD tools like CATIA, a proven track record in battery cell format design, and a solid understanding of the automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative battery designs that meet performance, safety, and efficiency targets.
  • Utilize your expertise in CAD design, particularly with CATIA, to create detailed battery system layouts and assemblies.
  • Apply your knowledge of various battery cell formats to optimize energy density, thermal management, and overall system integration.
  • Conduct simulations, analysis, and testing to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Contribute to the selection of appropriate materials and components for battery assembly, considering factors such as weight, cost, and environmental impact.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in battery design or related roles.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, especially CATIA, for creating detailed designs and assemblies.
  • Proven experience in designing different battery cell formats, with a focus on eMobility applications.
  • Background in the automotive industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
