Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Battery Design Engineer. In this role, you will be a key player in the design and development of advanced battery systems for electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in CAD design, hands-on experience with CAD tools like CATIA, a proven track record in battery cell format design, and a solid understanding of the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative battery designs that meet performance, safety, and efficiency targets.
- Utilize your expertise in CAD design, particularly with CATIA, to create detailed battery system layouts and assemblies.
- Apply your knowledge of various battery cell formats to optimize energy density, thermal management, and overall system integration.
- Conduct simulations, analysis, and testing to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Contribute to the selection of appropriate materials and components for battery assembly, considering factors such as weight, cost, and environmental impact.
- Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in battery design or related roles.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, especially CATIA, for creating detailed designs and assemblies.
- Proven experience in designing different battery cell formats, with a focus on eMobility applications.
- Background in the automotive industry is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
