Financial Accountant

Role – Financial Accountant
Salary – £47,420 – £51,515 per/annum with a generous 19% pension contribution from the employer.
Company – ALMO that are subsidiary of a Local Authority within the West Midlands.
Working Style – Hybrid between 2-3 days per/week in Office.

I am recruiting on behalf of an ALMO who are a subsidiary company of a local authority within the West Midlands that are in charge of the Housing interests and Stock.

This means that the role will involve HRA Income (Housing Revenue Account) and the Councils Capital Programme for their Housing such as New Developments, Major Repairs and any Acquisitions.

This is a permanent position and my client are going through a period of transformation within their Finance service and have just hired a brand new Head of Finance who is starting the post next week and this role will report directly into the Head of Finance.

For the role you will have a direct report within Purchase Ledger and need to be able to come in and roll your sleeves up as it is a small Finance Team.

The role will involve day to day accounting work such as but not limited to; VAT Returns, developing management reporting systems, Managing the Capital and HRA programmes, Analysis of Accounts and supporting the head of finance on various projects.

Experience/Qualifications:
– Ideally CCAB OR CIMA Qualified but the client can consider part qualified for the right candidate.
– If you have knowledge of Public Sector Finance or have worked within Social Housing or a Local Authority before that is ideal but not essential.
– If you have a strong background within the Corporate Finance world and are looking for a new challenge the client will also consider that.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
