Electrical Engineer

Role: Senior Electrical Engineer (Substation)

Location: Steinhöfel region, Germany

Contract: 12-24-Month Freelance Contract

Rate: DOE (Depends On Experience.)

Start Date: June/July

Your Role:

As an Electrical Engineer on the Steinhöfel Climate Park Substation project, you will be a key member of our engineering team, responsible for a range of tasks across the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Contributing to the design and planning of the high and medium voltage electrical systems within the substation.
  • Preparing technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
  • Conducting calculations and simulations to ensure system performance and safety.
  • Managing material procurement and ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
  • Overseeing and coordinating installation activities on-site.
  • Performing testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
  • Collaborating effectively with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and subcontractors.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise during the project.
  • Contributing to project progress reports and documentation.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (ideally 2+ years) as an Electrical Engineer, preferably within substation projects or high/medium voltage environments.
  • Solid understanding of electrical power systems, equipment, and relevant standards (e.g., IEC, VDE).
  • Experience with design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, simulation software).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in German and English is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work on-site in the Steinhöfel region.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
