Freelance Roser Work Preparation Specialist (m/f/d) - Pipeline Construction
Contract Type: Freelance

A client is looking an experienced ROSER WORK preparation specialist for a pipeline construction project on an industrial maintenance turnaround (TAR) project on a petrochemical and refining platform. As a Roser Work Preparation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of the pipeline construction scope of this major shutdown event. You'll be at the heart of planning, preparation, and supervision activities-translating strategy into safe, efficient field operations.
Required Skillset:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including:
- At least 2-3 TARs or shutdowns where Roser was used for work preparation in pipeline or mechanical scopes
- Hands-on field experience in pipeline construction or refinery maintenance
- Proven involvement in end-to-end scope processing, from planning through execution and post-calculation
- Strong understanding of pipeline construction, field interfaces, and mechanical integrity
- Confidence in preparing technical calculations, estimates, and sequencing logic
- Eye for detail with a methodical, structured, and quality-driven approach
- Ability to translate field conditions into documentation and updates
- Excellent English skills (spoken and written) for client interaction, reporting, and meetings
- Dutch is a plus, especially for site communications or reading technical materials
- Proactive, communicative, and solutions-focused team player with on-site presence mindset
Key responsibilities
- Process and manage approx. 185 Roser scopes for pipeline construction within a high-complexity TAR context
- Critically review Roser work packages created by client planners- ensuring accuracy, logical job sequencing, resource completeness, and alignment with field requirements
- Conduct field verifications, gather photo documentation, and continuously adapt planning to field realities
- Control and coordinate materials per pipe class specs and catalytic converter requirements
- Identify errors, gaps, or inconsistencies in scopes- act as the vital link between planning and execution
- Prepare cost estimates and man-hour calculations using Roser and custom Excel tracking tools
- Lead post-calculations to support transparency and learning
- Coordinate scaffolding and access needs inside the plant
- Support prefabrication activities with a focus on readiness and priority delivery
- Act as on-site supervisor during TAR, managing day-to-day execution and troubleshooting as needed
