Cost Estimator
Cost Estimator (Bau-Kalkulator) - Munich, Germany
You'll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects-materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract packages-supporting tender submissions, budget forecasts, and value optimisation in the pre-construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, technical specifications, and project scopes to determine required quantities.
- Perform material, labour, plant, and subcontractor pricing using tools like CostX, iTWO, Excel, etc
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate quotes from suppliers/subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits to assess logistics, risks, and measure actual conditions.
- Compile comprehensive bid documentation/PowerPoint presentations for internal and client review.
- Maintain cost records: assumptions, sources, calculations; monitor budget variance and report findings.
- Collaborate with bid managers, planners, QSs, and project management on project viability and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.
- 3+ years of cost estimating experience (pref. within DACH/multinational projects).
- Proficiency in estimating software: CostX, iTWO, or similar.
- Fluent German (C1+) and professional English.
- Strong skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint.
- Understanding of German BOQ standards (DIN 276, VOB/B), procurement, and contract principles.
