Senior Cost Estimator

Freelance Opportunity: Senior Cost Estimator - 2-Year Project - Denmark

Location: Denmark (Hybrid: Remote & On-site as required

Sector: Construction / Engineering

Rate: DKK 600 - 700 per hour

Project Overview:

Join an ambitious and future-oriented renewable energy program in Denmark. We are seeking a Senior Cost Estimator (freelance) with a strong background in major capital projects to support planning, budgeting, and forecasting across the full project lifecycle. You'll collaborate closely with project controls, engineering, procurement, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates throughout all project phases (concept to execution)
  • Support risk analysis, contingency assessments, and benchmarking
  • Provide cost input during project changes and scope reviews
  • Collaborate with procurement and engineering for vendor and quantity validations
  • Track estimate accuracy and support variance analysis
  • Present estimates to stakeholders and provide scenario analysis

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in cost estimating
  • Ideally a background in renewable energy, pharmaceutical, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation methodologies and tools
  • Skilled in Excel and at least one estimating software (e.g. Cleopatra, CostOS, Sage Estimating, etc.)
  • Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English; Danish language skills are a plus
  • Able to work independently in a hybrid setup (on-site presence may be required periodically in Denmark)

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
