Senior Highways & Drainage Civil Engineer

Civil Engineer - 3-Month Contract (Fully Remote, Outside IR35)
Experience: Minimum 8 years (12+ years preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a 3-month contract to help manage a high workload in drainage and highways projects. This role is fully remote but requires UK-based candidates with UK experience and the legal right to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake design reviews for Section 278 and Section 38 works.

  • Deliver hands-on design work, including preparation and checking of CAD drawings.

  • Use Causeway PDS and other relevant software to produce high-quality outputs.

  • Liaise with, support, and delegate work to technicians and junior staff.

  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced team members.

  • Engage directly with clients, managing expectations and building strong professional relationships.

  • Respond to project enquiries and work independently without day-to-day management.

Requirements:

  • 8 years minimum relevant civil engineering experience (12+ years ideal).

  • Strong background in drainage and highways design.

  • Proven expertise in Section 278 and Section 38 design reviews.

  • Proficient in CAD and Causeway PDS.

  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and delegating work to team members.

  • Client-facing skills with the ability to lead projects independently.

  • Must be UK-based, with UK work experience and full right to work in the UK.

  • Available to start immediately.
