Senior Highways & Drainage Civil Engineer
Civil Engineer - 3-Month Contract (Fully Remote, Outside IR35)
Experience: Minimum 8 years (12+ years preferred)
Location: Fully Remote - UK-based only
Contract Type: Outside IR35
Start Date: ASAP - Interviews close end of this week
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a 3-month contract to help manage a high workload in drainage and highways projects. This role is fully remote but requires UK-based candidates with UK experience and the legal right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake design reviews for Section 278 and Section 38 works.

Deliver hands-on design work, including preparation and checking of CAD drawings.

Use Causeway PDS and other relevant software to produce high-quality outputs.

Liaise with, support, and delegate work to technicians and junior staff.

Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced team members.

Engage directly with clients, managing expectations and building strong professional relationships.

Respond to project enquiries and work independently without day-to-day management.
Requirements:

8 years minimum relevant civil engineering experience (12+ years ideal).

Strong background in drainage and highways design.

Proven expertise in Section 278 and Section 38 design reviews.

Proficient in CAD and Causeway PDS.

Experience supervising, mentoring, and delegating work to team members.

Client-facing skills with the ability to lead projects independently.

Must be UK-based, with UK work experience and full right to work in the UK.
