About the Role
Our client, a leading operator in the minerals and aggregates sector, is seeking an experiencedGeotechnical Engineer to carry out quarry geotechnical assessments across sites nationwide. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with The Quarries Regulations 1999, conducting inspections, slope stability analyses, and producing geotechnical reports to the highest safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake geotechnical inspections and assessments across multiple UK quarry sites.
- Prepare and deliver geotechnical reports in line with legislative and industry standards.
- Advise on safe excavation, slope stability, and geotechnical risk management.
- Liaise with quarry managers, HSE teams, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with UK health & safety and quarry regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in UK quarry geotechnical inspections and assessments.
- In-depth knowledge of The Quarries Regulations 1999 and related standards.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (role requires extensive travel).
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
Desirable
- CEng or equivalent professional registration.
- Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., Slope/W, Rocscience).
